So subsequently about ten years and the last two dealing with waders full of water I guess it's fourth dimension to supersede.
Best brand for the coin. Not looking for cheap non looking for crazy expensive

The older Lacrosse Alpha Swamp Fox was a great set of waders, but I haven't bought a pair of those since they inverse the model all upwards to appease the gimmick obsessed waterfowlers. I simply roll with Lacrosse hip boots like I grew upwardly on

I am biased towards neoprene because I don't wear annihilation when it'due south hot and when it's common cold I like the flotation then neoprene provides

This X 1,000,000. I have a pair of breathables that are going on 3 seasons. Non pricey, lots of pockets, and well constructed. Plus, you can return them at Academy with nothing hassle. Before that I simply kept the box on the last pair and busted a pigsty in them a few months after purchase and just walked into Academy and got some new ones.

The Banded are nice, but they tear a little more easily than the onetime 5mm neoprene waders. Gator Waders are a newer wader that is getting some attentions.

I have a pair and they are unbelievable. Super low-cal and comfortable. Enough of storage space as well.

They're actually sold under the Magellan brand every bit of this yr, but I hold. The Magellan Tredlite 400 Breathable Waders ($139) are awesome.
I would attempt on a pair in-store before ordering as the boots run small.
Fwiw - it appears Academy is doing abroad with Game Winner entirely and consolidating all that trade under the Magellan brand. The items are staying the same, merely getting re-badged.

I bought the red zones last year. You will not find a more comfortable pair of waders. I'll be able to speak more than on the durability when I get them out the store and run across if they have dry rotted.
I will not purchase another pair of expensive waders once these crap out though. In the future I will just buy a new pair of the tough guard game winners every flavor for similar 100 bucks.

I've ever used cabelas neoprene waders, but the quality has gone way down in the by several years. I tried the Roger'southward make neoprenes and they are fantastic. Exist patient, and you tin grab them on sale. Definitely worth the toll.

If you could only have one pair would you go with the insulated or non? Cant decide which ones to go. Hunting more often than not southward Arkansas if that helps.

Insulated unless you accept a really good pair of wader pants. I've worn mine from breaking water ice at 13degrees all the way up to 70.

Does anyone brand waders in what Drake calls the "erstwhile school" camo design? I always just called it brown camo, but can't seem to observe a single manufacturer who does.

insulated or non
Non. No question. I tin can always add more than layers when information technology'd cold, only y'all tin can't take away layers when information technology's hot in teal season or early big duck flavour if your waders are insulated.
I've worn not-insulated Game Winner (now Magellan) waders in negative Temps and my legs were fine because I layered appropriately. I hunt primarily NWOK and oft suspension ice going in and don't have an issue with my non-insulated waders.
Not to mention, walking/wading whatever decent distance in not insulated waders is no problem. Trying walking/wading 5 miles or more over the course of a day in heavy neoprenes. It's a pain.
